| Mr. O’Mealia
is a nuclear documents specialist for Egan, Fitzpatrick, Malsch & Lawrence.
He is considered by many in the nuclear bar to be the most
knowledgeable Nuclear Regulatory Commission (“NRC”)
documents and electronic data expert in the country. Prior
to joining the firm, Mr. O’Mealia owned his own NRC
document-retrieval firm called Doc-Search. For more than 20
years, many area nuclear law firms—such as Morgan, Lewis
& Bockius; Shaw Pittman; Winston & Strawn; Strasburger
& Price; Aiken Gump; LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae;
Wilmer Cutler & Pickering; Mayer Brown & Platt; and
Egan, Fitzpatrick, Malsch & Lawrence (among many others)—routinely
relied on him for assistance with their document needs involving
NRC, DOE and the nuclear energy industry.
Mr. O’Mealia is also an
expert in NRC’s Public Document Room, NRC records, NRC’s
electronic filing systems and its “Adams” electronic
database. He is presently working closely with NRC in developing
the Licensing Support Network for its future electronic legal
dockets.
Mr. O’Mealia has also represented
many builders and suppliers within the nuclear energy industry
such as Westinghouse; Stone & Webster; Babcock & Wilcox;
Combustion Engineering; Framatome; Mitsubishi; and Bechtel
Jacobs, among others.
His client list included many
companies located in Asia and Europe—such as Chubu Electric;
GRS, Jepic, Kansai, Tepco, Jaeri, Kedo, and NEK. His work
involved daily contact with Washington-based and foreign attorneys
to keep them apprised of key issues, rules, regulations and
technical matters involving NRC. He has also provided assistance
to the U.S. Attorney General and Public Utility Commissions
for the States of New York, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts
and California for litigation needs during rate cases.
At the present time, Mr. O’Mealia
works solely for Egan, Fitzpatrick, Malsch & Lawrence and its clients.
